Founded in 1982, SafeHouse Outreach’s 37-year history is rich, and our future is bright. SHO seeks to provide practical, emotional and physical assistance to those living in the margins of the Atlanta community and help integrate them back into society.  “A Hand Up, Not Just a Handout” has been our motto for decades. SafeHouse

Outreach, (SHO) has always had a heart for transformation. And our approach has always been anchored in relationships and partnerships.

SafeHouse Outreach operates its core services through two departments, 89Ellis/Social Services and Urban Nation/Volunteer Services. 89Ellis serves as a low barrier coordinated access point for individuals and families that are experiencing homelessness in the City of Atlanta and provides services through four programs: Impact, Atlanta Guardian, Problem Solvers and the Career Development Program (CDP).   Urban Nation serves as a training ground for groups that want to learn how to bring transformation to their communities and manages volunteers.

SHO provides a combination of passionate outreach to the “least of these” along with the experience of proven programming for those seeking true life change. Learn more about SafeHouse Outreach and our programs at
