The Atlanta City Council has approved legislation to create a small business advisory council.
The legislation establishing the advisory group, which was introduced by Councilwoman Natalyn Archibong and approved last week with 14 yes votes and one abstention. The advisory council will provide policy recommendations to the City Council about how to help small businesses and entrepreneurs flourish and create more living-wage jobs.
The legislation recognizes that “Atlanta continues to have one of the highest rates of income inequality among the major U. S. cities.”
