Gunna Pulls In A Nice Haul Of Gold & Platinum Plaques

Though an artist should never be measured by the number of plaques lining their wall, it does provide an interesting gauge on which rappers are actively dominating the mainstream. And today, Gunna has officially added a nice haul to his collection, bringing in five gold and platinum plaques to his already sizable number. Naturally, many arrive courtesy of his recent album Wunna, which stands tall as one of the year’s best albums — unsurprising that the people continue to drive those digits up.

In a strikingly strange narrative, 2020 found an alarming level of interest in the Birkin bag. Gunna was not impervious to the allure of the prestigious sack, and his 2019 Drip Or Drown 2 anthem “Baby Birkin” continued to gain momentum throughout the year, upgrading from gold to shiny new platinum. Another Drip Or Drown 2 cut withstood the test of time, with “Who You Foolin” earning Gunna another gold plaque for his wall decor.

On the Wunna note, “Skybox” and the Young Thug-assisted “Dollaz On My Head” have now officially been certified by the RIAA, proving that an earlier report of “Dollaz” going platinum was not entirely accurate. The album itself also moved five-hundred thousand album-equivalent units, and don’t be surprised to see it hit platinum by next year. Impressive, considering Gunna’s habit of releasing new music before the older releases have a chance to truly resonate. Perhaps this is simply the new way, and older fans used to cradling cd covers and getting paper-cuts on the liner notes have no choice but to accept it.

Either way, we’re happy to see Gunna continue to move units, and may he have an even more successful 2021 campaign when the new year rolls around!

Phora Strikes Back At Playboi Carti With A Revenge Billboard Vandalization

When we talk about artists battling on billboards, this isn’t what fans are usually thinking about. Playboi Carti is readying the release of his new project, Whole Lotta Red, but his promo team stepped on the toes of another rapper in the process of rolling things out. As we reported, a member of Carti’s team chose to vandalize a billboard that features up-and-comer Phora. Phora is promoting his latest album, With Love 2, but Carti’s team simply painted over that message with their own.

“Whole lotta CAP. FUCKING LOSERS,” wrote Phora on Instagram in response, displaying a picture of his vandalized billboard. “Bunch of weirdos in LA. Who don’t give a fuck about the next person trying to do something with themselves.”

“World filled with a bunch of fuck boys and clowns who have no respect for anyone because they have no respect for themselves,” continued Phora. “Could never be me. Some people just raised and built differently though. And yes I used to be a tagger. I love graffiti.” Well, it looks like Phora may have had a change of heart. HNHH has received an image showing that Phora’s crew (or possibly one of his fans) has taken revenge by vandalizing a Playboi Carti billboard. How long do you think they’ll keep this up?

Gucci Mane Performs Packed Show In Houston

2020 has been a rough year for many. While social distancing measures were put into place, the spread of coronavirus made live performances obsolete. Most rappers have opted for virtual shows. Unfortunately, not every rapper has necessarily followed suit. More rappers have recently been hosting live shows and then facing backlash for it.

The latest being Gucci Mane. With an apparent little care of the possibility of catching coronavirus, the rapper hosted a “lit” concert in Texas this week where fans were pretty much shoulder-to-shoulder. With the club packed, Gucci Mane went along performing hits like “Both” as fans sang along.

It didn’t take long for people to criticize Gucci Mane’s decision to host a club event. Some people joked that they’d be heading to get a vaccine as soon as it’s available, largely due to the disregard for the severity of the virus.

This wouldn’t be the first time a rapper from Atlanta caught heat for a performance in Houston during the pandemic. Earlier this year, Lil Baby performed in front of a packed crowd which drew criticism from the city’s mayor. “It’s very disturbing,” said the Mayor. “The way I look at it, it’s quite selfish on their part.”

“We were below our legal occupancy. Every night we deal with keeping people socially distant. Once Lil Baby (Wednesday night’s headliner) started to perform, people got out of their seats and rush towards the front area, so we had to cut the concert short,” club owners said of Baby’s performance.

Tyrese Reveals How He Stays COVID Free & People Are Tearing Him Apart

The world of medicine has made some major developments when it comes down to the coronavirus. After it was discovered roughly a year ago, scientists have been working relentlessly to find treatment, and ultimately, a vaccine. This week, vaccines are being distributed across the country. And while doctors have stated that the best way to prevent the spread is using masks and washing your hands, Tyrese claims to have found another method to keep the virus away.

Apparently, it all boils down to the room temperature. Sharing a random selfie on a flight, Tyrese dove into equally random thoughts. He began with one of his “secrets” for staying “COVID free” which apparently involves maintaining a room temperature of 90 degrees every night because “rumor has it if you catch Covid it doesn’t survive warm temperatures.”

It didn’t take long for things to get even weirder from there. Tyrese then began to get deeper into his feelings unprovoked, divulging into some of his feelings surrounding loyalty and trust.

“I’m a self professed alpha empath….. My alpha was turn fragile people away… When that happens it makes me happen cause I have one less person to love and care for,” he wrote.

Now, if you got this far, you’re probably asking yourself what he’s talking about. Well, rest assured, you’re not alone. Check out some of the best reactions below.
