Kobe Bryant’s Finals Jersey Reaches The Walls Of The Smithsonian

Kobe Bryant is one of the biggest legends in the history of basketball, and his legacy will forever live on. Kobe will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame soon, and now, he is getting yet another honor. The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture has created a new installation called “Sports: Leveling the Playing Field.” This new installation will include numerous historical sports artifacts, including Kobe’s 2008 NBA Finals jersey, which he actually donated to the museum after taking a tour of the place.

For those who don’t know, Kobe was actually one of the first real donors to the NMAAHC, which makes him the perfect person to include in the new installation. His jersey is complemented by other significant sports uniforms, including LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 15 “Equality” shoes.

“In 1996, Kobe Bryant became the first guard to successfully make the leap from high school to the National Basketball Association. At the time, experts were skeptical that high school wing players could compete in the NBA. His success ushered in the modern era of younger players in the league,” the paragraph next to Kobe’s jersey reads.

In a statement via TMZ, Spencer Crew, a museum official, noted just how much Kobe means to the museum and how this jersey fits within the motif of the installation. “As a founding donor, [Kobe] understood the significance of this museum to the nation and the world. After postponing the March installation due to COVID-19, we believe now is the perfect moment in history to honor his memory by placing his jersey on view.”

Kobe is one of the most respected NBA players of all-time and seeing his jersey in the Smithsonian is fitting. All of his accolades are well-deserved.

Kendrick Lamar Teases Sonic Reinvention On New Album

Of all the albums that have yet to drop, Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming follow-up to 2017’s DAMN. has to be one of the most anticipated. And though news surrounding the project has been scarce — save for an off-hand comment indicating that Kenny was experimenting with a “rock-influenced” sound — Reason recently teased that TDE would be coming out swinging in 2020. ” To give some foreshadowing to it, I feel like the Warriors are going to be the best team in the league next year, and I feel the same way about us,” declared the New Beginnings emcee.

While concrete news surrounding Kenny’s next album has yet to be released, perhaps a rollout is about to kick off as the year winds to a close. Today, it has been confirmed that both Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem would be the focus of the upcoming i-D magazine’s 40th-anniversary cover story. Featuring a music-centric conversation between K. Dot and his young protege, the legendary rapper takes a moment to briefly reflect on what fans can expect from his new project. “I spend the whole year just thinking about how I’m gonna execute a new sound, I can’t do the same thing over and over,” he muses. “I need something to get me excited.”

He also reflects on the pressures of following up Good Kid, mAAd City, an album many fans still deem to be his finest body of work. “I remember the sophomore jinx of Good Kid M.A.A.D City; it was for that year and for that time,” says Kendrick. “I was in a different space in my life. I already knew off the top I can’t make Good Kid M.A.A.D City Part Two. The second I’m making that, it’s corny bro. That takes the feeling away from the first. I need that muhfucka to live in its own world. Then boom, To Pimp A Butterfly. Some people love it to death, some people hate it.”

Adam Gase Reacts To Jets’ Abysmal 0-6 Start

Jets fans haven’t had a lot to cheer about over the last decade and during Adam Gase’s tenure as head coach, this has been especially true. The Jets had a horrible start to last season and now, they are experiencing an even worse start as the Jets are now 0-6. Yesterday, the Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins by a score of 24-0 which is an embarrassing result for a team that just let go of its most talented offensive player, Le’Veon Bell.

There have been rumors about Gase’s job security in New York and whether or not he is going to make it all the way through the season. While speaking to reporters after yesterday’s game, Gase claimed that he isn’t thinking about losing his job and that he’s mainly focused on the team’s play. As he explained, the Jets have simply been terrible through these first few games.

“We haven’t done anything well this year at all,” Gase said. “We just hurt ourselves so much. Last year, we trended in the right direction. We improved. . . . This year, we have to figure out a way to improve really quickly, from top to bottom, coaches, players, it doesn’t matter, everybody. We have to get things better.”

Moving forward, the Jets will need to start winning if Gase wants to keep his job. The head coach has started to get a bad reputation around the league and if he doesn’t turn things around, this could be his last head coaching gig of his career.

Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum” Remix With City Girls & DaBaby Gets A New Video

Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum” is filled with attitude. The song is a favorite for many, serving as the soundtrack for when somebody gets out of pocket and starts speaking to you as though they’re entitled to have an opinion on your success.

“A thought a broke n***a said sum,” raps the Memphis star on the song, clearly annoyed that people less successful than him are trying to tell him how to do his job.

Considering they’re in similar positions of power, the City Girls and DaBaby needed to step on the remix to talk their own trash, fitting in perfectly on the record.

The official music video has officially been released for the remix, directed by BENMRC. DaBaby is a highlight, sitting on his gold throne in an all-gold outfit, rocking a gigantic Billion Dollar Baby chain.

Watch the video above and let us know if you’re rocking with the song.
